weekend update
i seem to keep posting about our weekend activities, but i guess that's because the weekdays are so similar: get up, get everyone ready, travel to work, work, travel home, dinner, bedtime for jake, tv time, an occasional bit of hw, and getting to bed earlier than i did during the crazy fall semester because life is much better this semester. :-)
on to the update - friday nite we went out to chili's and just hung out after a long week. saturday morning L ran some errands while i fed and played with jake. when she got back we went to home depot to finally order the custom closet doors to finish replacing them throughout the house. after that we went to cartoon cuts for jake's first haircut (pictured below). he screamed a bit until he got settled and started watching barney; i sat down next and switched it to scooby doo. a fine selection i do believe. that evening we went up to arlington for a birthday party for missy and her roommate dawn that was a lot of fun. it was starkly reminiscent of our first year here in no.va. when we seemed to get together with groups of new to the area young professionals all the time. so many things change when you move to the burbs and become parents haha :-) (a pre-emptive strike: that wasn't a negative comment on my current state in life so don't read anything into that).
sunday was church and then we finally had a birthday party for jake at ruby tuesday's it was a fun time with our church friends and we even brought cake :-) afterwards, we trucked it home and napped for too long and then fed jake dinner and i tried to finally get some hw done haha. i didn't end up finishing it up until last nite (when it was due), but now i'm joyfully on spring break for a week :-) except for the fact that we call it "reading week" and i need to read a book for next week so i can have time to work on a midterm essay.
oh yeah the tourney! well, i was doing pretty good in the first couple of rounds, but i had syracuse in the final four and gt going further so my future prospects aren't the greatest. as long as it's illinois vs. unc in the finals, i'll be doing pretty good.
