uneventful weekend

friday nite lindsay had a second work christmas party where yours truly was not welcome. i guess it's understandable to not invite significant others because that would almost double the number of guests, but from what i've been told, her bosses aren't really hurting for cash. anyways, me and jake had a fun evening watching tv and playing.

saturday was a lazy day. we watched dukes of hazzard (so so) in the afternoon and then went to corky's for dinner after being cooped up all day. we had the worst ribs ever, and most of the food was not as hot as it should've been, but the fried dill pickles (spears not the wonderful chips like at toot's) were the reason we came and they were really good. when we got home, we (that is, i) cleaned out the guest room closet and put an antique chest from the play room into the closet to make room for one of jake's christmas presents. i threw a lot of junk from college (and earlier) away that i haven't touched in years.

after church on sunday morning, i was backing out slowly and neglected to see a land rover parked in a place were cars shouldn't park. i barely tapped it, but it made a nice little mark so i exchanged info with the owner (who actually works at the place where our church rents for service on sunday morning) and we'll see what happens. that afternoon, i finally finished all the extra stuff on the 6th disc of the extended lord of the rings set. i had finished the 5th a while back, but it took me forever to get around to watching this one. it was great stuff. i'd love to pull the marathon and watch all three extended versions back to back to back, but i'm not sure when i'd have time - maybe lindsay will have another work christmas party.

Andy's work has plenty of fancy parties and I'm not invited to a single one either. I probably wouldn't mind so much if the PTO had a fabulous FREE christmas party..but as you know, that's never going to happen. We did, however, have an art unit potluck which was pretty cool.
