fall classes
i've had a couple of questions about this recently and i'm looking ahead to it these days so here's the skinny on my fall classes:
classes start right after labor day: i have a tuesday night class (church planting - 3hrs), a wednesday afternoon class (speech - 2hrs), and an online 'class' - mentored ministry for 2hrs. really though, i mainly do something with my church for 8 hrs a week and then the 'class' portion is reviewing case studies or something. i hear the online version is a lot easier than the on-campus version so i was really excited when i found out over the weekend that i got into the online section. plus, now i only have one class during the day like i'm supposed to.
that gives me 7 hours, but i'm really interested in the church planting class and there's not a ton of work for it besides a big semester project that i'm going to enjoy. in some of the speech classes, you only have to come on the days you give your speech, but i hope mine isn't a joke like that. it's been a while
since i've preached and i'm hoping to get some good stuff from this class (official title: communication as christian rhetoric). and for the mentored ministry class, i'm going to be hosting a small group that i'm really looking forward to and keeping up with the other small groups in our church. i'll have more info on the small group when i finalize some things. i expect we'll have our first meeting on the sunday evening following labor day weekend (sept. 10th) at, say, 6pm. if you're reading this, you're invited to join us.
