the imitation of christ

so i was looking at the ol' bookshelf the other day and the imitation of christ by thomas a kempis jumped out at me. i started reading this book when i was alone in arlington, va for 6 months before me and lindsay got hitched. the book is broken into 4 parts with numerous chapters of about 2 pages each. i would read it each morning with some breakfast or something and the whole experience really transformed (or spiritually formed?) me into a little bit more of a quiet, contemplative soul. i only got to about the middle of the 3rd part before putting it aside because the 4th part is about christ in the sacrament and i simply wasn't ready to read about that yet. i am now though and i'm excited to finish this spiritual classic (written around 1425).
