good visit

mom and charlie met me at work at the end of the day on tuesday. i showed them around my meager surroundings and then we jaunted through traffic to the house. we threw a freezer lasagna in the oven and caught up regarding their day visiting ma-maw in the 'personal care facility' (i.e., not a nursing home, more like a senior center). they said she's doing good and they played some christmas tunes on the piano after lunch.

we watched a movie (the devil wears prada - good one) and jake stayed up late since he was going to hang out with them on wednesday. he stayed up so late that he didn't wake up in his dark room until 10:30am! that might be the latest ever for him. they had a fun day playing both inside and out, upstairs and down. i ended up having to work a bit late and got home around 6:15pm, but lindsay ended up having to both work late a bit and run errands after work instead of during lunch. by the time she got home at around 8:30pm, jake had had a bath and was ready for bed and we had all eaten dinner around two hours earlier. oh well, such are the joys of a busy time of year, right?! we watched 'white christmas' and i'm sorry missy, but i think you have to grow up with it ;-) however, i was dozing at the end and lindsay finally settled down to watch the last half and she really enjoyed it. it felt like it was all coming together as my eyelids began their descent.

anywho: dad arrives around 5pm, L and i work half days tmrw, and then we all drive on to the cabin for a fun christmas weekend with L's family.
