buh bye netflix

after growing weary of ongoing slow deliveries (and reports and admissions from netflix that they throttle over-active users), we're kicking netflix to the curb. we've signed on with blockbuster total access for the exact same service for the exact same price with the following wonderful bonuses:

• we can return movies directly to a brick and mortar store in exchange for a free rental. at this time the computer system automagically sets the wheels in motion to send us the next movie in our queue


• it seems to take one day to mail to and from blockbuster's distribution center in louisville (netflix took 2+ days)

lull

unless you're just a hardcore blogger churning out 3+ posts a day, this happens to most people. just not much to say. school has started, but it hasn't been terribly overloaded. work is good and getting busy with some new hardware arriving. it's still very fun. the garden is growing huge and i still need to post some pictures (though i've finally gotten most off the camera). jake is doing good with poddy training and is basically 90% trained with #1 and around 1% trained with #2. he'll get there. i found out a friend moved and now lives a couple blocks from work so we hope to get together for lunch or just to talk more often now. i look forward to that. i'm doing good on my (4th) re-read of harry potter (list updated) and i'll try to keep better track of that on the left. been watching lots of movies and i think i'm finally fed up enough with netflix throttling movie delivery (google it) that i'm ready to jump to the extra benefits of the samely priced blockbuster service. i'll try to keep the movies updated in the sidebar as well. i'm up to around 38 movies on the afi top 100 list - that's around double in less than a year of really trying. it's fun. i've got about 4 on the tivo and 2 ones from netflix right now. aight, have a great weekend. we traveled all of may and we're staying at home as much as possible this summer. we're booked for every weekend in september after that.
