Will (2nd) and Vishal (1st) show off their winnings. Vishal had won before with our group, but not yet at SMC's place. In an amazing ending, Vishal knocked out the final three people in about 15 minutes with all-in wins.

Mike Ma.'s first win!
After becoming jokingly (or truly?) frustrated that he was still surfing in the bottom of the leaderboard for the 2032 Poker Group tournaments, Mike Ma. has cashed in the past two weeks to storm his way up the leaderboard. Building an impressive chip stack over the course of the evening, chip leader Mike Ma. never let up and pushed his way to victory over a surprising ("lucky") SMC and Paul. In the end SMC had a small chip stack, but kept his nose out of trouble as Mike Ma. busted Eugene (4th) and Paul (3rd). Near the end, Paul lost most of his chips then made a great comeback to cash. It was good to have Paul back as he was one of our original regulars. Standings and results have been updated.

Poker Nite -- FRI Apr 22, 8pm sharp
Hello All -
You are invited down to Woodbridge for our Poker game this Friday nite. We had one table of action last time and oddly enough I won again haha. Let's get this game back to two tables again! Check out the website for standings, pictures, and recaps.
The game will be the same format [$10 buyin, rebuys for approximately the first 1.5 hours, no addons, No Limit Hold'em Tournament with payout @ 75%-25% for 5+ people (50%-30%-20% for 9+) all rounded to the $5], I'll provide some chips and sodas and you can feel free to bring any snacks.

Host SMC wins again!
Back to back champ. Weird for me, but I'll take it. The game was kind of odd as well. We had nine for a full table and a 3rd place cash and everyone played a good game as our collective skill seems to be increasing as we continue to play more. I was able to get a lot of chips early and play conservative to hold the large lead the whole game. Note the updated standings and link on the left.

Host SMC finally wins!
After hosting poker nite for over 6 months and cashing only once, I finally won! It was an exciting time and an evening of good play by all. The final hand saw Mike Me. hit a set on the turn and I hit a straight on the river and pushed all in after a big bet from Mike Me. on the river. We had one visitor who will hopefully join us again in the near future along with all those who haven't been able to join us recently. Until next time!!

Congrats to Greg (1st) and Vic (2nd)!!
Two out of Three!
For the second time in only three visits, Greg took home first. It was a night that saw a nearly full table play with increased skill by all. Play went by at a normal pace, but the end played long and didn't end up until about 1am.

Two in a Row!
George won first ($65) for the second time in a row! Will placed second ($25) in an evening of very good play by all. We had seven regulars and one first timer for a full table of eight. The game was well-paced and familial with the exception of one tense situation where we were reminded of the value of the adage "Never muck your cards if you want to claim the pot."

Recap from 01/28/05
New Records aplenty were set:
Tables used (2), Total players (12), Total female players (4), Total pot size ($150 after 3 rebuys), and finishing time (2:15 am).
We had the blinds down to 25 minutes, but the chips between the top 3-4 players kept moving from player to player and the resolution took a little longer than normal. At the end of the nite, the following won money:
3rd - $30 - Dipika
2nd - $45 - Mike Me.
1st - $75 - George
Mike Me. had an incredible chip lead going into the final table of 8 after busting 3 players out. However, the top 3 played hard and George ended up coming back many times to end up victorious. When the game was over, the blinds were at the 11th level at 800-1600 after starting at 10-20 and 2000 in chips.
Overall, one of our best nites ever!
